A home is enlivened with the presence of meaningful things – a gift from a dear friend, a found object stumbled upon during a trip, an ordinary but useful tool – all of which convey comfort and evoke joyful associations.

The meaning of the objects we surround ourselves with seeps through the surface of the domestic universe to affect our psyche. As vestigial repositories of life and conduit of memory, they reinforce or reconstitute the narrative we create, for the home and for ourselves. They form part of the process that condenses and reincorporates time and events, registering emotional waypoints while situating us in the now amidst the suggestions of home as a place that is felt, cherished and remembered.
